Richard Georgi is the Co-Founder and a Managing Partner of Alpine Grove Partners, and currently serves as the Chief Investment Officer and Chairman of the Investment Committee. Mr. Georgi is responsible for leading Alpine Grove Partners’ investment initiatives and determining the strategic direction of the firm. Mr. Georgi has invested in real estate private equity internationally for over 25 years.
Upon founding Soros Real Estate in April 1999, Mr. Georgi became responsible for Soros’s worldwide real estate related investments. He subsequently spun this out to become Alpine Grove Partners. Prior to his career at Soros, Mr. Georgi was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, where he was in charge of the European investment activities of the Whitehall Street Real Estate Funds and served as a member of the Whitehall Investment Committee.
Mr. Georgi received a master’s with distinction in Business Administration, from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Political Economics, cum laude, from Williams College. Mr. Georgi is actively engaged in Harvard’s Real Estate Academic Initiative and the Williams College endowment.
Markus Hens is a Managing Partner, responsible for overseeing investments and developing new business in Europe. Mr. Hens has over 20 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners in 2001, Mr. Hens worked in the Real Estate Investment Banking group at JP Morgan in London, where he was responsible for their real estate investment banking activities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He started his career at Deutsche Bank in 1988.
Markus Hens received a Dr. rer. Pol. and a Diplom-Kaufmann from European Business School, Oestrich-Winkel, Germany.
Michael Bidinger is a Partner responsible for developing new business related to the European strategy, with a focus on Italy. Mr. Bidinger has over 15 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners in 2006, Mr. Bidinger worked as a Vice President in the Acquisitions Department at Secured Capital Japan. Prior to that role, he served in positions in project finance at Kanematsu Corporation and venture capital at Ibizcube Japan.
Mr. Bidinger received a bachelor’s degree in Economics, with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Japanese, from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a CFA® charterholder.
Simon Samuels is a Partner responsible for developing new business related to the European strategy, with a focus on the UK. Mr Samuels has 25 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners in 2018, Mr. Samuels spent 10 years as a Partner at Brockton Capital LLP, a private equity real estate firm, investing throughout the UK. Prior to Brockton Capital, Mr. Samuels spent 8 years at Morgan Stanley where he was an Executive Director and Head of UK Real Estate Loan Origination. Previous to that he served in real estate lending roles at NatWest Bank and various surveying roles at DTZ and Network Rail.
Mr. Samuels received a bachelor’s degree in Urban Estate Management from the University of Glamorgan and is a qualified Chartered Surveyor.
Rohit Wanchoo is a Partner responsible for developing new business related to the European strategy, with a focus on Spain. Mr. Wanchoo has 11 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners in 2008, Mr. Wanchoo worked at Lehman Brothers in the firm’s Global Power Investment Banking Group, and at the United Nations as part of the UN Millennium Project. Mr. Wanchoo is also the Co-Founder and a board member of GiveDirectly, the first non-profit exclusively dedicated to making unconditional cash transfers in low income countries.
Mr. Wanchoo received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, a master’s degree in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard Kennedy School, and a master’s in Business Administration from MIT Sloan School of Management.
Xander Wassink is a Partner and Chief Operating Officer at Alpine Grove Partners. Mr. Wassink is responsible for the financial, portfolio, legal and risk management of the firm, its funds and investments, as well as for the day to day operations of the firm which includes HR, IT and regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners in 2007, Mr. Wassink worked in EY’s international tax practice in Amsterdam, Chicago and New York as well as at the then recently IPO-ed Accenture managing it’s newly created holding structures and cross-border tax planning.
Mr. Wassink is a graduate of the University of Amsterdam, where he earned a Master’s degree in Law and a Master’s degree in Economics.
Krzysztof Augustynowicz is a Principal responsible for Alpine Grove Partner’s day-to day operations, quarterly and annual reporting, IT, HR, and compliance matters for the firm’s management companies and team vehicles. Mr. Augustynowicz has 15 years industry experience.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners in 2007, Mr. Augustynowicz worked as an Audit Supervisory Senior at Mahoney Cohen & Company where he was responsible for performing financial statement audits on various companies. Prior to that role, he worked at KPMG for 3 years as audit staff working on S-1, 8-K, 10-K and other SEC filings, financial statements, 401k and internal control audits.
Mr. Augustynowicz received bachelor degrees in Accounting and in International Business and Trade from Saint Peter’s College and a master’s in Business Administration in Finance from Saint Peter’s College.
Yekaterina Chmatenko is a Senior Fund Controller, responsible for all aspects of the Fund financial reporting at Alpine Grove Partners. Ms. Chmatenko has over 17 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners in 2018, Ms. Chmatenko was a Finance Director at Cartesian Capital Group, a private equity firm based in New York, for 7 years. Prior to that role, she was a Vice President at J.P. Morgan’s Private Equity and Real Estate Fund Services group. She started her career at Morgan Stanley’s Real Estate Funds group in 2001.
Ms. Chmatenko received a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Marketing from Manhattan College, and an MBA from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business.
Jan Dobiáš is an Associate, serving as a member of the investment team in Europe. Mr. Dobiáš has 4 years of industry experience and has lived and worked in Germany and the Netherlands.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners in 2017, Jan worked as an Associate for the Dutch investment bank Kempen & Co, where he was part of the European Real Estate Corporate Finance team.
Mr. Dobiáš graduated Cum Laude from both, his bachelor’s degree in Economics and master’s degree in Finance & Investments, at the Rotterdam School of Management and is a CFA® charterholder.
Kazuhiko Fujii serves as a Director responsible for portfolio management for Japan at Alpine Grove Partners. In this role, he is responsible for managing strategic analysis on portfolio-level matters, valuation oversight, and reporting for Japanese investments. Mr. Fujii has 15 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners in 2010, Mr. Fujii worked at Goldman Sachs Realty Japan as an asset manager on office, hotel and golf properties. Prior to this role, Mr. Fujii worked for a joint venture firm providing due diligence service focusing on asset level flow to real estate owners.
Mr. Fujii attended Mohawk College, Canada, and is a licensed real estate transaction specialist.
Olcay Gökçe is a Finance Manager responsible for the reporting, accounting and treasury of the European investment entities. Mrs. Gökçe has 10 years of industry experience.
Mrs. Gökçe received a bachelor’s degree of Business Administration from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
Kees Huibregtse is a Principal, serving as Legal Director. Mr. Huibregtse joined Alpine Grove Partners in July 2016.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners, Mr. Huibregtse worked at Loyens & Loeff N.V. as a corporate litigator.
Mr. Huibregtse received a master’s degree in Law and a master’s degree in Medicine from the University of Amsterdam, as well as a master of business administration (Executive OneMBA) from the Rotterdam School of Management.
Morgan Kendall is an Associate, serving as a member of the Accounting team in New York.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners in 2018, Ms. Kendall worked as a Tax Associate for the accounting firm Mitchell & Titus, LLP preparing corporate and individual tax returns and then joined the software company TRG Screen as their Junior Accountant.
Ms. Kendall graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting and Business, Management and Finance at the City University of New York-Brooklyn College.
Laura Mollard is a Principal serving as a member of the investor relations team and assistant to the Co-Founder and Managing Partner Richard Georgi. Ms. Mollard has over 25 years of industry experience.
Ms. Mollard was part of the original team at the inception of Soros Real Estate Partners in 1999 and the subsequent spin out to Alpine Grove Partners. Previously, Ms. Mollard worked at Goldman Sachs, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Lazard Freres. Ms. Mollard graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages, History and Politics from Bristol University and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from Newcastle University.
Bodo Krug von Nidda is a Principal, serving as a member of the investment team in both North America and Europe and on the portfolio management team in Europe. Mr. Krug von Nidda has 13 years of industry experience, and has lived and worked in Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners in 2014, Mr. Krug von Nidda worked as head of corporate development for an asset management firm servicing Blackstone’s German multifamily holdings, where he was responsible for portfolio acquisitions and strategic initiatives. Previous to that, he served as the Head of Acquisitions at the listed residential REIT Gagfah S.A. Mr. Krug von Nidda began his career at McKinsey & Company.
Mr. Krug von Nidda graduated with honors from Hamburg Law School in Germany, and attended Geneva Law School in Switzerland and Hamburg School of Business Administration.
Shane Ravener is an Associate, serving as a member of the portfolio management team covering Europe, Japan and the US at Alpine Grove Partners. In this role, he is responsible for supporting strategic analysis on portfolio-level matters, valuation oversight and reporting on investments.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners in 2014, Mr. Ravener worked in Public Accounting, focused on Audit and Tax of large, publicly listed Real Estate companies.
Mr. Ravener received a BS from the University at Buffalo and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Leandro Rigutto is a Paralegal, assisting Alpine Grove Partners’ Legal Director. Mr. Rigutto has 7 years of experience as corporate paralegal in a multinational environment.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners in 2018, Mr. Rigutto worked as corporate paralegal at Eni S.p.A., where he was responsible for corporate housekeeping, compliance and corporate governance of the Dutch and Luxembourg subsidiaries.
Mr. Rigutto received a master’s degree in Linguistics from Leiden University, the Netherlands and developed his professional skills attending various courses in the corporate law and corporate governance field (Baker McKenzie (Amsterdam, the Netherlands), ICSA: the Governance Institute (London, United Kingdom), Utrecht University (Utrecht, the Netherlands).
Mathieu Saunder is a Principal, serving as a member of the investment team in Europe and dedicated to the investment platform in Spain. Mr. Saunder has 9 years of industry experience, has lived and worked in New York, Chile, London, Paris and more recently Madrid.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners in 2018, Mr. Saunder worked as an Associate Director at JLL for 3 years, where he was part of the EMEA M&A team based in London. Prior to that role, he served as an Associate at Carmila, doing Portfolio & Investment Management, and started his career in New York as an investment banker at Tegris Advisors/Degroof Petercam.
Mr. Saunder graduated with high honors from his trilingual bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at HEC Montréal, and is fluent in French, English and Spanish.
David Stein is an Associate, serving as a member of the investment team in Spain. Mr. Stein has 4 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining Alpine Grove Partners in 2014, Mr. Stein attended Trinity University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in International Business.
